What is my most valuable take-away from this unit? I'd have to say the rude awakening of not only how prevalent cyberbulling is, but the varieties in which its done. My awareness has increased ten fold - With this new found awareness of both cyberbullying and the "Always on Generation" I've taken some proactive steps in my martial art business and my community involvement. First by sharing some of the information provided in this unit on my Digital Dojo - A private Ning site used to educate and inform my students and their parents. I have also met with my staff and we are going to expand our policies on electronic communications to include students and parents who use our web site, Facebook page and digital Dojo. I've also started a blog page called BEARi (Bullying Education Awareness Rhode Island). The site is in its infancy but it is my intention to make it a powerful resource for the state and beyond...
